The importance of sustainability and digitalisation is rapidly increasing across the world as economies, businesses, and societies strive to adapt to global challenges and opportunities. Uzbekistan is actively pursuing progress in these fields, recognising their essential role in achieving long-term economic resilience and inclusive growth.
In response to these emerging needs, the Erasmus Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Business and Finance (ECESBF) was established at the Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE). The Centre was initiated as part of the Jean Monnet Project under the Erasmus+ Programme, co-funded by the European Union. ECESBF builds upon the experience of the earlier Erasmus Module in European Studies in Business, Economics, and Finance, which was implemented at TSUE from 2018 to 2021.
Drawing on the benchmarking experience of the European Union in sustainability and digital transformation, the Centre develops and promotes innovative approaches to teaching and research in these areas.
The mission of ECESBF is not only to learn from European experience but also to engage in dialogue with local stakeholders to adapt best practices to the Uzbek context and disseminate knowledge to the broader society, contributing to the country’s sustainable and digital future.
